En plein air

There is nothing more satisfying than painting directly from the source. I recently bought a pochade box dedicated to oil painting and took it out for the very first time this morning. It’s a very short walk to the meadow by the lake from my house and there are so many beautiful spots there perfect for a landscape painting that it’s hard to choose just one. I spent around an hour on today’s practice and left before the weather became too hot. To sit there amongst the sweets smelling grass and wildflowers, listening to birds, bees, and grass hoppers while borrowing the nature’s colors to put down on canvas - it is priceless. I am looking forward to using this set up often exploring other beautiful spots for the next paintings. Stay tuned!😊
